Open UMD Libraries in another browser window to work through this tutorial side by side.

1. Start your search by entering the title, author, or keyword into the search box.

2. Once you type the information into the search box, click on the Search button to get the results.

The results of your Search will appear on the right of the newly loaded tab.

You may scroll down through the results to see what is in the Libraries collection, as well as what items the library can get for you through UBorrow or Interlibrary Loan.

If you would like to filter your results, use the topics on the left to limit the results by Location, Type of Material, Author, Publication Date, Language, or Type of Content.

Once you've found the item you want, click on the title of the item to find out its availability.

To obtain a copy of your item, look at the item's Availability. The Availability will tell you which library the item is located in, and the Call Number will tell you where to find the book on the shelves.

If you would prefer to pick the item up at the Library Services Desk OR if the item is unavailable, you may place a hold on the item to have a copy reserved for you.

After you place a hold, wait for the Library to notify you when the requested item arrives and is available for pick up at the location you selected.

That's it!  You can now find and get all the resources you need from the Libraries.

Please enter your name and email address to retrieve a copy of your completed quiz.

You can enter multiple email addresses separated by commas. If you are doing this for a class, you may need to enter your instructor's email address also.
